Junoon – NoMad’s Top Indian Restaurant

One of NoMad’s favorite restaurants, Junoon, is not only one of the best the neighborhood has to offer, but it is also a truly exquisite experience. Junoon, named after the Hindi word for passion, is an authentic and elegant approach to Indian cuisine. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Junoon’s Restaurateur, brings his passion and adoration of Indian culture and food to this establishment with excellency as he has assembled a truly unique team of world-class chefs. Since its 2010 humble beginnings, it was immediately recognized as a must-go-to restaurant in NoMad as it was the recipient of a Michelin Star the very year it opened its doors to the NoMad Neighborhood. Junoon has remained immensely popular and is a great place to gather with your friends to share a truly special culinary experience as well as soak up a pleasure filled atmosphere.

Junoon has also gained reconaissance for its excellency in their Wine Program, as they have received an “Award of Excellence” from the Wine Spectator every single year since its inception in 2010. The unique approach in their wine menu can be summarized in their classifications of wines and how well they pair with select Indian plates as well as understanding the depth of wine and having truly skilled recommendations. Upon your visit of Junoon, you will be left with a memorable experience of how well they synthesize good atmosphere, perfect service and wine knowledge as well as plates that will leave your palate in awe. Below are some samples of what plates they offer, so be sure to have a look and prepare yourself for an immersion in Indian Cuisine.

It wouldn’t count as a true Indian Culinary Experience if you didn’t attempt to go through a spicy plate! Pictured above is the all time favorite Lamb Rogan Ghosh.

Again, Junoon surprises us with their ability to cook up some all time classics in a truly unique twist and personalized culinary style; pictured above is the Foie Gras Terrine, an undoubtedly delicious platter. The Five Pepper Scallop pictured below is an equally attractive choice when deciding what you’ll have for lunch or dinner at Junoon, and of course, this is a plate we’d highly recommend!

Last but not least, our top recommendation is the Butter Pepper Garlic Shrimp. We are salivating at the thought of this plate, simply due to the fact that its ingredients are so simple yet its execution is so complex with flavors. We are left with no other thought than to return as soon as we can to re-order and we’re sure you’ll feel the same!
